What to Expect...

Attending a new church can be a bit anxiety-producing. Below is some information to help you feel a little more informed about our typical worship service.

The Sunday school hour begins at 9:45 am with a few songs. Classes begin by 10:00 am and are  available for all ages, including an informal adult class. The children's curriculum is fun and Bible-based. We use David C. Cook for the primary grades and Ken Ham's "ABC" program (Answers Bible Curriculum) for the secondary grades.

The morning worship service begins at 11 am.

You can expect to be welcomed warmly by our greeters, who will hand you a bulletin, as well as those you sit near. Feel free to dress in whatever way you are comfortable. It is common to see a range of style choices, so you do not need to wear anything dressy unless you'd like to.

Our pastor occasionally mixes things up by changing the order of service or focusing on certain aspects of the service over others. Following is a description of what is typical.

We begin the service with announcements, then transition into the musical portion. A single worship leader or worship team leads the congregation in three or four songs, usually a mix of hymns and contemporary praise songs. One of our unique traditions is to take time to publically share any items of thanks or prayer requests. Visitors are welcome to share as well. To show our thanks to God for the blessings He freely gives us, an offering is also collected. As a visitor, you are under no obligation to take part in this. However, you are welcome to participate in this form of worship if you feel led.

Children ages birth through 4 years are dismissed after the offering, just before the message begins. The message usually lasts about 30 minutes and is typically given by our senior pastor, but at times our youth pastor or someone else may teach. The message is usually topical and provides application for how to live like Jesus in today's world.

The teaching time concludes with one more song. You are welcome to stay for a bit and get to know some of us. We would also like to invite you to join us for a Potluck Supper that is held following the worship service on every first Sunday. You don't need to bring anything, just come and fellowship with us.
